Prescriptions

Ordering repeat prescriptions

The easiest ways to order repeat prescriptions are:

  • using your NHS account (through the NHS website or in the NHS App)
  • using the GP online system: Patient Access
  • fill out a repeat prescriptions request form
  • in person – tick the boxes on your repeat slip and drop into the designated box at the dispensary entrance

Dispensary

Dispensary phone lines are open 2pm to 4pm, Monday to Friday for queries only. Medication orders will not be accepted over the phone.

If you are a non-dispensing patient (living within 1 mile of the practice), you will need to choose which pharmacy to collect your prescription from; this is called nominating a pharmacy and you can change your pharmacy choice at any time by contacting dispensary via the website.

Collecting your prescription

Information:

Please allow 3 full working days for your prescription to be processed and ready for collection; please note, weekends and bank holidays are excluded.

At busy times this process may take a bit longer, so we advise that you order your medication when you have one week left.

If you place an order at Oak Farm (branch surgery), your medication will remain there for collection; we advise to follow the same rule of ordering medication when you have one week left. Please note, that due to reduced working days at the branch, the turnaround time is different to Manor Farm. Please contact dispensary if you wish for more information.

Medication delivery is available however there is certain criteria; we offer this service to patients who are housebound, elderly or disabled. To discuss further, please contact dispensary.

Opening times

Manor Farm dispensary is open Monday to Friday from 8:30am until 12:30pm and 2pm until 6:30pm.

Oak Farm is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:30am until midday.

Questions about your prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

If you would like to speak to someone at the GP surgery about your prescription:

Medication reviews

Patients on regular medication require a review annually with their GP. A notification date should appear on your repeat slip. Wherever possible, the GP will complete the review without you having to attend the surgery.

What to do with old medicines

Take it to the pharmacy you got it from or bring it in to the surgery. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.
